The Spring is the best time of year for tea and garden parties. Here’s a beautiful tablescape designed by the fabulous Em Devaud Events.
Alana and Mike’s Cape Cod Beach wedding was a wedding which won’t be forgotten. This destination wedding was held at the Kalmar Village which was so perfect! Most of the guests and the bridal party stayed in the cute cottages which filled the village. The village center was where the magnificent tent was set up which overlooked the sun-drenched beach.
What I loved most about Alana and Mike’s wedding were all of the special touches which were incorporated to make their wedding day extra memorable. Their friend made a custom ring box which held the rings right up to the moment they were placed on their fingers. Another friend created their fun “guest book” which were cornhole boards. Alana’s best friend from childhood (and a great Boston photographer) wed the two of them on the beach under the chuppah. Her Uncle perfectly timed a plane to fly by waving a banner which read “Congratulations Mike & Alana” just as the ceremony ended. Also, Alana’s cousin surprised everyone and sang the most amazing rendition of Bette Midler’s “The Rose” for her dance with her father. These are the memories which will be with Alana and Mike for a lifetime.
After the ceremony was through and the photos were taken, it was time to party and this crowd really knew how to party!
Steve Memmolo and the Classic Yellow Band had everyone up on the dance floor for the rest of the night and no Greek wedding is complete with out some Greek dancing and some money being tossed around! OPA! Congratulations Alana & Mike!!
Hair and Make-up by the talented Christy Lavallee, Make-up Artistry by Christy. The luscious peach peony bridesmaids bouquets and the bridal bouquet made by Fancy Flowers and The decadent food was provided by Casual Gourmet!
The sun was shining, there was a light breeze coming off the bay and their wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. Ashley and Brian couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for their OceanCliff wedding in Newport, RI!
Ashley was looking to create a soft, romantic feel for her wedding which is why she chose to put her bridesmaids in the most beautiful grey gowns accented with pink and white flowers. The bouquets were made by the ever so talented Toni Chandler. They were filled with the most luscious peonies (My favorite!), hydrangea and tea roses. The flower girls were in the most adorable pink and cream tulle dresses. The gentlemen were looking very handsome in their classic black tuxedos.
Ashley and Brian opted to have a first look at the Elm’s Mansion which was the perfect backdrop! We then headed back to Oceancliff to finish up some photos and to get ready for the ceremony on the lawn. The couple said their heartfelt vows, kissed to seal the deal and then they were off to party the night away! Sweet Tooth and Sugar Babies provided the entertainment for the evening. They are absolutely amazing, I can not praise them enough! They had everyone and I mean everyone on the dance floor for the entire evening! Congratulations Ashley & Brian!!
Behind the Scenes of JLP
DETAILS!! Who doesn’t love details? I love starting the wedding day shooting the brides details. It really gets the creative juices flowing! Ashley decided that she would use her grandmothers special rings as her “something blue.” I placed them on top of Ashley’s sash to give them some context and added her purse to the back to darken up the background and to add some bling. I always place the light source, the window, to the side whenever possible as it adds dimension and interest to the image.

Classic black and white, art deco designs, pearls, plumes and lots of champagne. This is what the roaring 20’s were all about. Check out this tablescape that Em Devaud Events put together for some Gatsby inspiration. The Linden Place was the perfect backdrop for this table! A huge shout out to Rentals Unlimited, Newport, for all the linens and china.
The three layered china plates are my absolute favorite patterns. So simple and elegant with a flavor of art deco.
No shoot is complete with our some French macrons! Two more inspiration boards by Em Devaud Events coming your way soon!
