What a crazy week!! I have been in New York City for the past week photographing New York Fashion Week with Shannon Michelle Photography! This was such a fantastic opportunity and I had so much fun. I photographed 18 different shows ranging from ready to wear clothing, to artistic expression clothing to the most beautiful gowns I have ever seen! Of course the gowns were my favorite part! The most impressive aspect of the shows was seeing the craftsmanship and the details of the clothing such as intricate beading, subtle embellishments and the quality of fabric.
Venexiana by Kati Stern was my first gown show and what a show it was. Here are some of her gowns which would be great for your beautiful mothers to wear on your wedding day or they can be worn as alternative wedding gowns! Maybe Kati can make these gowns in white! ;)
A new meaning to the “little black dress”
Pink is a classic choice for your wedding! It can be used to be bright and bold with shades of hot pink, fuchsia and coral or it can be soft and elegant with shades of ballet pink, champagne and blush. Either way this color coordinates very will with grey. Have your men dressed in grey, a few special ladies in the color or add a detail like shoes or pashmina scarves. Don’t want to wear pink? How about sprinkle it in your details such as your bouquets, linens or cake! Take a look at how pink and grey could work for you!
It’s another snow day for all of us here in New England. I love the beautiful white snow, especially when I get to photograph it! Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Kate & Corey in the beautiful city of Boston! They are getting married New Years Day and wanted to have a complimentary winter engagement session. There was about 2.5 feet of snow on the ground which made it challenging to navigate but boy was it pretty! Kate and Corey thank you for a fabulous afternoon out and I can’t wait for your wedding!
Blush and grey are still the top trending wedding colors for 2015 but there is still an opportunity to be bold! Why not use Teal! These weddings either incorporated the color as the main color to their palette or it was a tasteful accent. It can be matched with a deep coral, a soft peach or with a bright yellow. Here is some Teal inspiration for you!
