Sara and Mark wanted to have a laid back and fun wedding filled with lots of good food, conversation and of course, dancing! The couple chose to be married at sunset on the lawn of Shining Tides over looking the picturesque view of Mattapoisett’s harbor. It was so romantic. My favorite part of the ceremony was when one of Sara’s friends read aloud the book “A Lovely Love Story” by Edward Monkton. An adorable story about two lovely dinosaurs with a message as old as time itself – that being together is better than being apart.
Another one of my favorite part of weddings is when couples add personal touches to their day making it extra special. Sara wore her mother’s veil and carried a family heirloom, an embroidered handkerchief. I LOVE the image of her mother helping Sara put on the veil. Mark and his groomsmen wore Puma Patten Leather Sneakers which to Mark is the ultimate stylish and comfort shoe.
After the ceremony, cocktails were held on the lawn as the last bit of light turned the sky the most beautiful shade of orange and pink. Once inside under the twinkle lights the party started and didn’t stop until the end. The DJ had the floor packed and everyone had an awesome time. Sara and Mark, Congratulations!

I love photographing proposals especially in the picturesque setting of the Castle Hill lighthouse. Justin had been planning his proposal for over a year because he wanted it to be extra special. The two are from out of town and it was Carmela’s birthday that brought them to Newport. Little did she know that she was going to get an extra special birthday present. I have to say her reaction was priceless and she couldn’t stop staring at the her beautiful new ring! Congratulations to Justin and Carmela!
