When I first met with Kristen and Adam they told me the only thing they wanted to do on their wedding day was to have fun with their closest friends and family, and that they did! The couple were married at the beautiful church of St. Augustin and the reception took place at the Newport Beach House!
Before we started the day with the couple’s private first look, each of them opened the gifts from each other. Each were very surprised with the thoughtful gifts. Kristen received her anniversary band to match her wedding band and engagement ring. It was GORG! <3 Kristen gifted Adam his personalized cufflinks but best of all she has been keeping a journal of memories and thoughts since they got engaged. It was the sweetest thing and there are still many blank pages left to fill in throughout their first year of marriage. After that we headed up to the roof deck where we had some killer clouds for a quick first look before we all headed to the church.
Kristen’s grandmother has been a huge influence in her life and she was a very important person at this wedding. It was important to have a church wedding married by Kristen’s family priest. During the ceremony the priest shared a lot of loving stories about Kristen growing up and some funny stories of Adam and his catholic experience as a child. It was a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. After they said “I do” it was time to party on the beach.
The couple’s favorite “thing” at their wedding was their Irish band, who were excellent, that played all through their cocktail hour. They played new Irish pop music as well as the classics. “Danny Boy” was one of the last songs and it had everyone in tears. Just before sunset we headed out to the beach to get some awesome shots!
The rest of the evening was filled with lots of stories and of course dancing. Victor & his band had the dance floor packed all night long! Congratulations Kristen & Adam!

Melanie and Jon were married at the Renaissance Hotel at Patriot Place this past May. The venue was so fitting because Jon is very much into sports! Not only does he love all our Boston teams but he himself is a basketball coach for a college team. Mel loved the the ballroom and how it was so perfectly matched to her color theme, which was this beautiful cobalt blue with accents of gold.
This wedding was an extra special wedding as it wasn’t only a wedding celebrating two people who love it other but it was also a celebration of life. While the couple was dating, Melanie was diagnosed with Lymphoma and it was a long, hard road to recovery. I can only imagine the amount of emotion that was present during this time for them both but everyone was cheering Melanie on as she beat the odds and is now in 100% remission! This part of their lives made them so much stronger as individuals and as a couple and all of this needed to be celebrated!
The bridesmaids were dressed in long blue dresses and carried a beautiful selection of posies, blue hydrangea, lavender freesia and wild queen anne’s lace! To add something special to her “wedding” Melanie’s engagement ring was made from her grandmother’s engagement diamond so she would always have her close to her heart. Her dress was so unique with it’s low lying waist and the intricate stitching made of gold thread. She also wore a gold drop earrings and the most fun gold strappy shoes. This lady is so smart, she bought the matching sandals to wear at the end of the night to her “groove” on. To compliment the ladies, the men wore grey suites with blue and grey striped ties & socks. Jon wore a special set of cufflinks and his favorite watch! Along side the watch he wore his bracelet which has Melanie’s initials on them, something he never forgets to wear.
The couple’s theme to their wedding was based around love of music. They were both “band nerds” and are still very much in love with all kinds of music. The tables were all named after favorite songs of the couple. The place card was hidden inside sheet music envelopes and the record sign read “take ‘note’ of your seat. I thought that was very clever! The tall centerpieces were beautiful with the hanging crystals and the low floral arrangements sat on top of records which actually spun around as if it were on a record player. I remember Mel talking about her vision for the tables and she was so excited to see it all come to life! The couple also had a record which was for their save the date and then a second one for their thank you cards. It was so sweet! Speaking of sweet, the cake topper was adorable as it was a heart and G-clefs.
Once the ceremony was over and pictures were taken the party got started and the dance floor was packed until the end of the evening. Melanie & Jon, Congratulations!!!
