Hallelujah, the sun does exist! After weeks of grey, cold rainy days, summer emerged and gave the most perfect day of warmth and sun. This couple had been waiting for the right time to get those golden-light shots out by the water. We chose the quintessential Newport location, the Castle Hill lighthouse. This location offers one of the best views of the Newport Bridge, the open ocean and the setting sun! We had such a fun time wandering around finding the beautiful light! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year the Viking Hotel!
I loved hanging out with Caity and Eric for their Boston engagement session! Caity wanted to have the first part of the session to take place on Beacon Hill because she loved the quaint cobblestone streets, the historic look, the overflowing windowing boxes and the brick buildings. I couldn’t have come up with a more magical setting. After we strolled along the streets of Beacon Hill we headed over to Eric’s part of the shoot. Eric’s in the Coast Guard and was once stationed here in Boston aboard the ship 906. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit obsessed with the HUGE buoys and the even bigger boats! The sunset was phenomenal giving us a beautiful pastel sky to work with. I can’t wait for Caity and Eric’s Glen Manor House wedding next year!!
This cute couple will be married in less than 2 weeks at the beautiful Belle Mer! We chose the lighthouse at Castle Hill as their backdrop because the couple loves love loves the ocean. This particular fall November day was grey and misty but there was my favorite, fog! I was so excited to see that we had fog on the water because makes for a super dreamy and romantic atmosphere. We had so much fun exploring! I can’t wait to photograph their oceanside wedding!
It’s beginning to look a little like Spring here in Newport which means wedding season is just about to begin! Jaclyn & Frank’s wedding will be coming up later in the season and will be held at the Aldrich Mansion. The couple was visiting Newport last November which was the perfect time for their engagement session. We chose Ochre Court because it had similar historic qualities as the Aldrich and it’s the perfect location to get both architecture and ocean! The front of the mansion looked so pretty with it’s holiday decorations and twinkling lights on the trees. Jaclyn & Frank, I can’t wait for your wedding!
Snow! Snow! Snow! It’s a snow day here in Newport and we are getting lots done! After the last snowstorm Jenna & Chris had contacted me to start planning their wintry engagement session! If you want to have a snowy session there are a few things to consider. Do you want the snow flakes in your photos? If yes, then the best time to go out is when there is a light snowfall. Also finding a place that is dense with trees or architecture. This will help to enhance the snowflakes and add a little more color. Timing a session with the perfect snow fall can be tough especially when winter brings lots of blizzards. The other option is to wait a day or two after the session so that you get pristine white snow but you can incorporate the beautiful golden glow of light from the sun! PLUS, it can be a bit warmer. I love this look because the sun makes the snow sparkle and with a blanket of white comes bright beautiful images.
This couple wanted a romantic winter wonderland feel and that’s what we got and more! I love the accessories they chose. The fuzzy hat and the plaid blanket are the two most adorable things ever. Jenna & Chris thank you for braving the cold and playing in the snow with me!
