I was so excited for Chris & Jenna’s Haley Mansion Wedding! I had never shot at this venue and was looking forward to exploring a new historic location. This place did not disappoint.
Hands down my favorite thing about Jenna and Chris’s wedding was the vibrant color palette. The bold modern jewel tones of navy, fuchsia and purple really popped against the traditional historic backdrop. The perfect marriage of old and new. The colors were beautifully carried throughout all of the details of the day. The other theme that was carried throughout was a slight nautical theme. The guest place cards were made from oyster shells, the stationery had nautical markings and some stationery had anchors and whales! It was a nice nod to the nautical town of Mystic.
A few special items were incorporated into the couple’s day. The first one to mention is Jenna’s family pup who was the stand in flower girl. She was only there for a short time but was as cute as a button with her floral wreath. The couple also had a wine box made that held a bottle of bubbly and love letters which were brought up by the nieces and nephews. These letters and champs are to be opened on their first wedding anniversary. (Such a great idea!) Another special moment that took place was during the speeches. Chris’s brother (best man) was deployed overseas last minute and couldn’t make it to the wedding which was understandable but heartbreaking for everyone. Chris’s brother’s adorable son stood in for him up at the alter and his wife read the most thoughtful and loving speech which he had written for the couple.
Jenna and Chris, it was a pleasure photographing your wedding! Congratulations.

I was so excited to photograph this couple’s Pierce House Wedding! When I first met the couple they told me how much they were drawn to the historic mansion because of the architecture and all the intricate details! We all know how much I love historic mansions! This mix of European details and New England history was the perfect place to have two families meet for the first time! The groom and his family are from Paris,France while the bride’s family are tried and true New Englanders.
The couple wanted a simple wedding which was focused more on their family and friends. We started the day getting ready in a room that matched the wedding perfectly! The pink walls were so unique but was a fantastic backdrop to the bridesmaids romantic pink gowns. The groomsmen were downstairs getting ready in the study. We chose to have the first look on the amazing staircase which was the feature of the home and then headed outside to explore the grounds.
The ceremony was a special one as the couple had many personal touches incorporated! The bride’s Uncle and Godfather officiated the ceremony in a very eloquent and beautiful way. The readings were not your average bible verses. The bride being a lawyer had a close friend read a passage of law about marriage. The groom being from France had a family member read an excerpt in French from Le Petit Prince (The little prince). After the vows, a gigantic dragonfly circled the bride and landed on her back. It stayed there the rest of the ceremony. Dragonflies are considered to be animals which carry the wisdom of transformation. When a dragonfly shows up in life it should remind us to bring more joy into your life and getting married is definitely a joy! After the ceremony we took a few more minutes to get some pretty “golden light” photos before the party began.
The rest of the evening was fun and it got even better when the dance floor music picked up! The French really know how to have a good time dancing! We got one last shot in front of the LOVE marquee that the caterer had made as a surprise for the bride. I was impressed and it made for a really fun shot!

Kate’s from the Berkshires and Emir is from Turkey, which is why the Country Club of Pittsfield was the perfect spot. This couple’s story is one of pure love and joy! Everything at this wedding from the venue down to the smallest of details has a reason and a personal story. Since Emir is from Turkey and his entire family flew over to witness this event, a few turkish elements were included. One of those elements was a beautiful dressing robe which was given to the bride by Emir’s mother. Another element were small gold ring holders, gifts to all the bridesmaids.
Before the ceremony started we headed over to the beautiful estate, The Mount. Here we took all of our photos using the architecture of the building and it’s extraordinary gardens. This is one of my favorite spaces to photograph in the Berkshires! After we were through with photos we headed back to the Country Club to get ready for the ceremony.
The ceremony was especially touching as this was the first time both families met! It was a very personal and intimate ceremony including some turkish blessings, a sand ceremony and personal vows said in both English and Turkish. Once the ceremony concluded it was time for the real fun to begin. The rest of the night was filled with two cultures and two families combining into one. The evening ended with a sparkler send off and some amazing fireworks!

David and Theresa’s Rosecliff Mansion wedding was as romantic and timeless as they come! The golden grand ballroom was decorated with soft pinks, peaches and ivory. Theresa surprised us with her gorgeous lace and crystal encrusted blush wedding gown with gorgeous satin buttons all down the back. She topped off the whole look with lace and satin Jimmy Choo peep toes. David looked dapper as ever in his classic black tuxedo.
The day was filled with lots of tears of happiness and lots of laughs. One of my favorite touching moments was when Theresa opened up a gift from David, a wooden music box which played a song that was very meaningful to her. The ceremony was held at St. Josephs Church in downtown Newport. The officiant was David’s Catholic school teacher from when he was a young boy and as you can imagine there were lots of great stories told. The entire ceremony was very touching and you could truly see the love this couple has for each other.
After the ceremony we headed to the Elms garden to get some great bridal party shots and to play amongst the beautiful beech trees. Once we grab some amazing romantic shots it was time to go to the mansion! Can I just say, The grand staircase inside Rosecliff is the BEST! Those shots are some of my favorites from the day! The evening ended with the most delicious Rhode Island themed treats; “Dunkin Donuts” – Chocolate Pot de Creme topped with a Mini Powdered Donut, “Del’s Lemonade” French Macarons & “Dark n Stormy” Gingerbread Cupcakes with Dark Rum Buttercream. YUM!
David and Theresa, Congratulations on your marriage and thank you for a fun-filled day!
