When I first met with Kristen and Adam they told me the only thing they wanted to do on their wedding day was to have fun with their closest friends and family, and that they did! The couple were married at the beautiful church of St. Augustin and the reception took place at the Newport Beach House!
Before we started the day with the couple’s private first look, each of them opened the gifts from each other. Each were very surprised with the thoughtful gifts. Kristen received her anniversary band to match her wedding band and engagement ring. It was GORG! <3 Kristen gifted Adam his personalized cufflinks but best of all she has been keeping a journal of memories and thoughts since they got engaged. It was the sweetest thing and there are still many blank pages left to fill in throughout their first year of marriage. After that we headed up to the roof deck where we had some killer clouds for a quick first look before we all headed to the church.
Kristen’s grandmother has been a huge influence in her life and she was a very important person at this wedding. It was important to have a church wedding married by Kristen’s family priest. During the ceremony the priest shared a lot of loving stories about Kristen growing up and some funny stories of Adam and his catholic experience as a child. It was a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. After they said “I do” it was time to party on the beach.
The couple’s favorite “thing” at their wedding was their Irish band, who were excellent, that played all through their cocktail hour. They played new Irish pop music as well as the classics. “Danny Boy” was one of the last songs and it had everyone in tears. Just before sunset we headed out to the beach to get some awesome shots!
The rest of the evening was filled with lots of stories and of course dancing. Victor & his band had the dance floor packed all night long! Congratulations Kristen & Adam!

Ariana and Adam’s Newport Beach House wedding was a celebration to be remembered. The sun was shining, the temperature just right and the sunset was a soft pastel pink which enhanced the romantic atmosphere of the party.
Ari and Adam live in Chicago and their friends and family are spread all throughout the country. Ari grew up in New England so the couple thought it would be nice to bring everyone back to their roots and Newport was THE destination location for everyone. The couple chose the Beach House because of it’s stunning views of the water but also for it’s classy interior; one that could be molded into whatever they would have liked.
The couple chose the soft colors of blush & ivory sprinkled with gold accents next to a rich charcoal grey. The entire day was littered with the most beautiful gold foiled signs from the menus to the table cards down to the thank you gifts. The flowers were so luscious in both color and texture! They were the perfect combination of fluffy astilbe and hydrangea, matched with the geometric dinner plate dahlia’s then all off-set with the modern looking anemones. Just delicious! Ari’s bouquet was mostly made of white with hints of pink but it was the “ribbon” that made it extra special. Ari had her bouquet wrapped with lace from the dress her mother wore to her sister’s wedding some years ago. Fastened to it was a locket which held an image of her mother and her grandmother. Ari and her mother were very close so in remembrance of her she used these items as well as lit a candle during their ceremony in her honor. As a gift, Ari’s aunt gave her a pin that was used as her something old AND something blue! It was a rose pin made from her Grandmother’s 72 year old satin wedding gown and a blue ribbon from her wedding slip. The note read “…The rose can be pinned to the inside of your gown to know a part of Gram and her spacial day is with you on yours.”
The couple were married at Jesus Savior Catholic Church in Newport. The ceremony was heartfelt and sweet. After they said “I do” we headed down to the waterfront for some harbor shots then off to a NEW secret location I found! It was the perfect shaded spot which gave us plenty of greenery to work with! Once we got back to the venue and the sun was setting we headed out to the beach! Golden Hour is my favorite time of day for photos because it is when we get the best and most glowy soft light. I always suggest carving out 20 mins around sunset so we can take advantage of it. After that the evening went smoothly, lots of laughs with some cries and then so much dancing! As you can see the dance floor got a little crazy once the lights went down and Night Rhythm picked up the beat!

This has been quite the busy summer with lots of amazing weddings! I am so excited to finally be able to share everyone’s fantastic and unique weddings! Today we are showcasing Patrick and Julie’s Newport Beach House Wedding! Patrick and Julie are a fun laid back couple who were so much fun (and cute) to be around! They wanted a laid back but soft, romantic affair. Julie’s theme of blush and gold was perfect! Especially against the stunning gilded walls of Ochre Court. Julie wore a few personal touches on her wedding including a beautiful flowing veil that her mother had made for her as well as a family handkerchief which has been carried on wedding days for generations in her family.
Patrick graduated from Salve Regina University which lead to the decision to have their wedding ceremony inside the grand hall of Ochre Court. I love that venue and was so excited to be able to take advantage of it’s beauty after for photos! The couple was married by Julie’s uncle whom had only loving things to say. An Irish blessing was read to reflect the groom’s Irish heritage. While the ceremony took place, Patrick’s sister played the harp, it was just beautiful.
After the ceremony we took lots of awesome photos then headed on over to the Newport Beach House! We lucked out with a killer sunset which was perfect for those golden hour beach shots! The rest of the evening was upbeat and fun! Take a look.
