Kim and Jack’s story is straight from a romance novel! The couple grew up together in a small town in Ohio with their very large families. Jack has 8 siblings and Kim has 5. All of the children knew each other and would play during and after school together. As everyone grew up they all went their separate ways and moved to all parts of the country. Years later at a high school reunion, Kim and Jack were reunited and well…. the rest is history!
The couple wanted their wedding to be more of a family reunion than a wedding day. Jack’s 98 year old mother was just the cutest thing! I had the pleasure of meeting her when the couple came in to meet me for the first time. This was such an exciting day not only because of a union between Kim and Jack but because Jack’s mother was able to see her entire family together under one roof again. I loved experiencing the reconnection of families and old friends as well as seeing the joy everyone had for these two. To start the day the couple wanted something that would be fun, unique and very “Newport”. That thing was a mid-day sail around Newport Harbor aboard the Aurora. There were so many people who wanted to attend that they had an additional “yacht” sail along side the sailboat. Adults and kids alike had a blast! After the sail everyone headed back to get dressed up for the rest of the evenings festivities.
The wedding was held at the Regatta Place, a perfect sea-side setting. Kim loves all things natural and in keeping with her casual/fun atmosphere decided to incorporate mosses, grass and lots of beautiful succulents. For the ceremony the couple walked in together and as you will see they were just over the moon for each other. We took a few quick portraits and then it was time to party! As the night went on and the kids decided they were done with dancing they all decided to go searching for shrimp. The light from the boats in the marina made it extra easy for them to scoop them up and keep them as pets. :)
Kim & Jack, Congratulations!!
