A Rosecliff Wedding | Newport, Rhode Island
Amy & Mike’s Rosecliff Wedding was a blast and boy can I tell you – This couple really knows how to put on a party and dance!
The bride wore a delicate lace gown with the most extraordinary detailing in the sleeves. It was the perfect mixture of a vintage and modern and it looked stunning on Amy. Meanwhile, Mike was looking dapper in his navy tuxedo with black satin trim and along side him was his crew of groomsmenkiloong sharp in their classic black tuxedo’s.
The couple saw each other for the first time in the luscious gardens of the Elms Mansion! I absolutely loved the mix and match bridemaids’ dresses and the muted colors were gorgeous together against the greenery of the gardens. After taking some amazing shots in and around the gardens it was time to go over to Rosecliff, just in time for the sun to pop out! Everyone had so much fun frolicking on the expansive back lawn of the mansion.
The grand walk from the mansion down the lawn was made extra special by the couple’s pug, Puma, who was the best flower girl there ever was. The ceremony was special as it was officiated by one of the Groom’s best friends. I love when couples ask friends to marry them, it’s such a personal experience but best of all, there’s always a few good jokes told! After they said “I do” it was time to say “hello” to all their guests during their Gatsby style cocktail hour with their signature bubbly drink “Puma” which was served in vintage glasses.
The flowers and decor were simple and elegant. Mostly of interesting large and small, green & purple succulents. The theme carried throughout the table scapes to the bouquets to the favors at the end of the night. I love the texture these plants have! The most special detail of the evening had to have been the cake! Amy’s mom made the wedding cake from scratch and it was not only beautiful but it was delicious!
Once the formalities were done and everyone was sitting down for dinner, there was a big surprise for the bride and groom. They are big fans of an international online trivia game and the bride’s sister not only got a shout-out to the wedding but got everyone in the room to play along. It was a nail-biting 45 mins as it was a race to see if someone could win! It got down to the final question and one of the groomsmen was on the path to victory….and then he answered wronged on the last question. Everyone was rooting for him and they were all so disappointed when it didn’t happen, but it was all in good fun and something that will be talked about for years to come. After that everyone got up and were dancing machines! Dance off’s, choreographed dances were had and spontaneous rainstorms of napkins erupted. It was such a good time!
Amy & Mike, Congratulations!
