A Fairytale Wedding | Massachusetts

Ashlie & Luke’s Massachusetts wedding was such a special one! I have known Ashlie since high school so I was so excited when she reached out to me asking me to capture her special day! One thing that was so extraordinary about this wedding was that each and every vendor has a personal tie to the Bride and/or groom making it a very personal and special experience for everyone involved.

Ashlie & Luke were married in late September, just as the seasons were changing from summer into fall making this weddings gold and burgundy color palette oh so perfect for it’s surroundings. Weddings days are all so unique and there is nothing more unique to a wedding than the bride’s dress. It’s always exciting to walk into the “getting ready” room and see what dress I get to create with for the day! :) Ashlie’s was STUNNING with it’s classic ballgown shape and delicate lace sleeves decorated with dainty buttons. Ashlie carried in her bouquet and on her person 2 very special heirlooms. She held 2 of Luke’s great grandfather’s silk handkerchiefs. They were gifts to Luke’s great grandmother during WWII while his great grandfather was fighting on the beaches of Normandy. Luke was also wearing his great grandfather’s watch. It was a gift from a family member who had it cleaned and restored back to working order!

The wedding ceremony was held in an intimate room next to the ballroom where many tears were shed. The first being Luke’s as he watched is beautiful bride walk down the aisle. The ceremony was officiated by a close family member and readings were done by members of the bridal party. After the kiss, we headed outside for a quick photo session then it was time to party!

The reception decor was put together by the bride and some family members. The colors were beautiful and the climbing ivy was the perfect accent! As guest favors and extra dessert, the couple had cookies made from a special place in Pittsburgh, the grooms hometown. Which brings my to the rival! Ashlie, a Foxboro girl and avid Patriots fan, marrying a Pennsylvania boy and diehard Steelers fan. WHAT!? There was a lot of fun banter that went on between the two sides all night long, on and off the dance floor. The biggest and best surprise of this wedding was when Ashlie and her band {Ashlie Dawn Band} got up to sing to her guests and to her husband their song. It was pretty awesome and a great way to kick off the dance floor.

Congratulations Ashlie & Luke!
