An Oceancliff Wedding | Newport, RI
Alison and David’s Oceancliff wedding was such a blast! From the first look in the trees to the brother who wrote and sang the most hilarious tune as his speech, to Alison’s 90 year old grandmother dancing up a storm!
Alison and David had decided early on that they wanted to do a first look. We talked about many locations but Chateau Sur Mer was the best! For many generations Alison’s family used to be the grounds keepers of the mansion. Alison’s grandparents were the last generation to live on the grounds in the gatehouse. She remembers as a child frolicking through the fields and playing in the large weeping european Beech Trees. We found the perfect tree on property that had a natural archway for David to walk through to meet his bride. We had so much fun playing in the trees. I especially loved the texture of the leaves and the beautiful light that was streaming in.
Alison and David’s ceremony took place at sunset by the water, how romantic! Right after the ceremony the couple ran down to the water and hug each other with excitement and love. We took a few quick shots just as the afterglow of the sun began to show. The reception was filled with laughter as friends and family gave speeches. The best speech of the evening was David’s brother’s. He wrote a poem which was sung in the tunes of favorite melodies. It was so creative and clever. After the speeches we cut some cake then Alison and David were off dancing! Congratulations!
